One company, many ways to power Nigeria

Nova Utilities is a Nigerian energy transition platform that develops, finances, builds, and operates decarbonisation infrastructure across the full project lifecycle, from origination and structuring to construction and long-term ownership.

The Group operates through three companies, each with a distinct risk and return profile.

Sapio Utilities provides captive and distributed generation for commercial and industrial customers, a segment where unreliable grid supply makes self-generation a structural cost of doing business rather than a discretionary one.

Nova Blueline Power owns and operates utility-scale generation and transmission assets, anchored by the 8 MW integrated power system serving the Lagos State Blue Line Rail, a state-backed public infrastructure counterparty.

The Floating Solar Company is a dedicated floating photovoltaic developer that builds generation capacity where land is scarce or costly, and benefits from the higher yields that water-cooled panels deliver.

Nova acts as both a principal investor and a technical delivery partner. As principal, it commits equity to the assets it develops and holds them over the long term. As delivery partner, its in-house engineering team competes for and executes third-party EPC, engineering, and infrastructure advisory mandates. The model keeps critical technical capability inside the Group and generates fee income that diversifies revenue beyond asset-level cash flows.

Treasury, legal, human capital, procurement, and risk management are centralised at Group level, lowering subsidiary overheads and applying consistent governance and controls across the portfolio. Centralisation also allows Nova to raise capital at the parent level and allocate it efficiently across its subsidiaries.

Currently at 15 MW, Nova Utilities is targeting around 60 MW by Q2 2028 through opportunistic growth and acquisitions.

Sapio Utilities

Captive and embedded power, engineered around the load

Sapio designs, builds and operates captive and embedded power systems for commercial and industrial users, combining solar, battery storage and gas to match each site’s load, budget and growth. Captive plants serve a single site; embedded systems share a private mini-grid across a community of users. Sapio also facilitates CNG access for industrial users and fleets operating away from the pipeline grid.

Captive powerDedicated supply for a single site, fully independent of the grid.
Embedded powerShared mini-grids for industrial parks, estates and communities.
CNG accessCleaner gas for industrial users and fleets operating off the pipeline grid.

Nova Blueline Power

Powering the Lagos Blueline

Nova Blueline Power develops and operates dedicated power for large-scale infrastructure. Its flagship is the energy management solution behind the Lagos Blueline, one of sub-Saharan Africa’s most significant urban rail projects, delivered with LAMATA.

Nova Blueline Power handles operations and maintenance for the Lagos State Blue Line. The Lagos Rail Mass Transit, also known as the Lagos Blue Line, is an intra-city electric light rail transit system and the pioneering municipal electric urban rail project in West Africa.

Floating Solar Company

Nigeria’s first floating solar, on the Lekki Lagoon

Floating Solar Company developed Nigeria’s first floating solar farm, generating clean power from the surface of the Lekki Lagoon. It is an engineering first for the country and a template for land-free solar across coastal West Africa.
